Little Lost Girls

Altered States only the beginning for original Hollywood wild child

Drew Barrymore was a Studio 54 regular before she hit her teens. She ran the gamut of celebrity lifestyle pitfalls before most girls go to their prom: Drinking at 8, smoking at 11, pot at 12, cocaine at 13, and rehab by 14. By 15 she was entitled to write her autobiography Little Girl Lost. Now it seems that she has returned to the booze again.Actress Drew Barrymore has started out early at most everything. At 11 months of age, she auditioned for a part in a dog food commercial. When the dog bit her, she just laughed. It seemed that even at such a tender age, she was already a trooper. From dog food commercials, she quickly went on to motion picture roles, such as: Altered States, and the movie which made her a star - ET.

The original Lindsay Lohan

Acting wasn't the only thing that the precocious Drew was fast at. Setting out on the wrong path, she became a regular at Studio 54 at an early age. By 9 she was smoking cigarettes, by 11 she was drinking, by 12 she was smoking pot, by 13 she was snorting coke, and by 14 she was in rehab! She seems to have run the gamut of celebrity lifestyle pitfalls before most girls had graduated high school. The only thing left was to pen her memoirs, which she did at 15, when Little Girl Lost was published.

full throttle and back on the bottle

Substance abuse has been an issue through Drew's life. It appears that Barrymore is once again have a battle with the bottle. For instance Drew was recently spotted at LA nightspots, like the infamous Chateau Marmont and the Soho House, knocking back the booze with an all star posse of pub crawlers like Penelope Cruz, Kate Hudson, Shakira, and her current boyfriend Justin Long.

Barrymore finds reasons to celebrate

Barrymore hit the Chateau to celebrate her 33rd birthday on Feb 22. She was witnessed knocking back white wine: slamming them harder and faster than anyone else, and engaged in some provocative public make out behavior with boyfriend Justin. By provocative I mean that she jumped him, wrapped her legs around him, and began slobbering on him like a Labrador Retriever! It got so bad that the host tried to guide Ms Barrymore out on to a patio, but Drew was too slopped up to make it unassisted. Justin had to lead her out.

Britney Spears Syndrome?

Of course this came on the heels of a previous birthday celebration at the Soho House, where more booze flowed free. Even earlier than that, back in January, Drew treated herself to a Vegas blow out to celebrate the birthday of Justin's brother. It seems that Drew is reaching the point where any excuse for a party will do.

Reaching for the top, and hitting rock bottom

No most Hollywood folk enjoy their party favors. It's one of the perks of their position. So no one is really too concerned by moderate snorting and boozing. The trouble is that Drew is losing control. One friend has even described her as "sloppy and excessive with her boozing", and concludes that the actress has "lost control". Others have commented that "she starts drinking and doesn't know when to stop", and she seems like "she doesn't know how to control herself". As a matter of fact rehab is already being discussed in her circle of confidantes. So will Drew get her act together and go to rehab?? Probably not without the usual wake up call, in the form of a DUI arrest. So get ready for her addition to the celebrity mug shot rogue's gallery! Then again, let's give Drew the benefit of the doubt; maybe she needs fresh material for another autobiography!

Wondertrash thought of the day:

An election campaign is no place to talk about the issues.
Former Prime Minister Kim Campbell

Nor is it the time to say what you think. Rather you must say what you think people want to hear. The consequences for honesty can be severe. We do live in a cynical age, don't we? It's a cynical age of drunken child strippers! Roman Polanski must be lovin' it! That's to say nothing of Woody Allen.

America's new comfort zone: the gutter!

Hollywood loves it some underaged skin. Hence Miley Cyrus makes it into Vanity Fair, with an artistic but smutty photo spread.
Though the late Robert Kennedy would have had no problem personally with 15 year old girls going naked and flaunting their bits and pieces, the juxtaposition of his iconic image to that of tarted up Miley Cyrus is none the less disturbing.

Memoirs of a molested childhood?

Hollywood seems to be continuing it's fascination with sexualizing under aged girls. Not that it hurt Jodie Foster's career anyway (I hear she and her girlfriend are about to come out - not that I'm implying Foster's portrayal of a 12 year old hooker in Taxi Driver turned her gay or anything. I'll leave that to be inferred by the reader!). The juxtaposition of iconic Robert Kennedy with child slut Miley Spears Lohan Cyrus is actually disturbing. America reached for the stars, but toppled into the gutter! America seems to be feeling right at home in the gutter nowadays. Oh well, you can get used to anything.

Wondertrash quote of the day:

"Annie (Leibovitz) took, like, a beautiful shot, and I thought it was really cool. That's what she wanted me to do, and you can't say no to Annie."

Miley Cyrus on her Vanity Fair shoot.

Already a girl who can't say no

'You don't say no to Annie.' Well not until you've 'made it' anyway. Even then you might want to think twice about it. Quarreling with Leibovitz didn't do Angelina Jolie any good. They learn to play the game so young these days. Perhaps if a 15 year old Miley Cyrus knows the score, it's not much of a game? At least it was a beautiful and really cool shot of a whored up, pimped out under aged girl. Billy Ray Cyrus has really set a new low standard for scheming stage parents.
