Phil McGraw & the Last Straw

The trashtastic Phil McGraw

It looks like Dr Phil McGraw's vulgar stunts may be impacting his marriage. Now doctor Phil can be a handful 'for better', to say nothing of 'for worse'. He has had a slew of ethics charges filed against him in Texas and Oklahoma. That alone would be enough to test the mettle of any wife. Now that his TV stunts have made him one of the most hated men in America, it looks like his wife Robin may be willing to call it quits.

Dr Phil McGraw's marriage may be hanging by a thread after his latest publicity stunt, bailing a violent teen ager out of prison.

Dr Phil's latest faux pas regards what must've have looked like an opportunity too good to be true. When the Lakeside Florida Cheerleader Beatdown hit youtube, Fast Philly probably figured that this was a sure fire way to boost his talk show's falling ratings. So he sent off a producer and an intern to get the inside story, probably 'be any means necessary'.

Compassion is the caffeine of the soul

Well off they go, and where do they find their juvenile delinquent but in the local jail. You don't need Sherlock Holmes to figure out that much. Now wouldn't it be just great to get the girl on the show. Dr Phil could ask her what her problem is. Then maybe he could even dispense some of his patented horse shit sense. It's just the kind of opportunity to be of genuine help that get's Phil McGraw out of bed in the morning (note to readers, I'm being facetious).

Well there was only one problem. The cheerleader batterer was behind bars. Now really we can't let a little thing like that prevent the girl from getting the help that she so obviously needs. So Dr Phil's minions persevered against adversity for the sake of a high minded cause. Sounds like Dr Phil's organization, doesn't it.

Groundbreaking social work: Dr Phil McGraw's early release program for violent criminals

In this case helping meant paying the girl's $3000 bail, so that she wouldn't miss her appearance on the Dr Phil show. Everything was all set to go, when word leaked that Dr Phil had sprung a violent criminal from jail. As McGraw protested - like Nixon during Watergate - that he didn't know what was going on because underlings acted without his permission, America collective ground it's teeth in contempt. For one thing nobody believed that a pair of underlings would get the $3000 bail money with out clearing it through the big man first. Besides, no body believed that Phil would tolerate that kind of independent initiative from staff.

and they say that there's no such thing as bad publicity

The public weren't the only ones not buying it. Someone who knows McGraw better than anyone else in the world thought that he was full of shit, when he claimed he knew nothing. That person would be his better half (and in that relationship, being the better half isn't hard). Robin McGraw believed that Phil was up to his old tricks; lying and cheating, in an attempt to get out of trouble.

Robin McGraw's over looked more shenanigans than Hillary Clinton

Lying and cheating must be nothing new to Mrs Phil McGraw. Still it seems to have reached new depths lately. Sources say that Robin started to get serious doubts back during the Britney Spears Fiasco. When Phil tried to thrust himself in the middle of that mess, the public backlash was fast and furious. Of course Phil even tried to drag his long suffering wife into it. At one point, after Britney got out of the nuthouse, he had poor Robin dropping hints that Britney was their guest.

I guess that dropping his wife into the middle of that mess didn't exactly endear Phil to her. Now with a new scandal brewing on the heels of the previous one, Robin may have finally had enough. There are even some rumors that she might try to start up her own talk show. If so she would need to distance herself from her blow hard husband and his sleazy tricks.

Well that's got Phil all in a lather. The grapevine says that he's begging Robin to give him another chance (she's probably lost track of the second chances given to him by now) and take him back. Apparently Dr Phil is in tears, and telling his wife that she's the only one who can save him. Robin however, feels that Phil doesn't really understand what he did wrong. She fears that he's blaming everyone but himself. So whether she takes him back or not is an open question at this point. So far this marriage is a case of "to be continue" pending immanent cancellation.

Dr Phil's name is Mudd?

BTW poor old Phil McGraw has always reminded me of interplanetary ne'er do well Harry Mudd, from the original Star Trek series. Fans will remember Mudd as Capt Kirk's sweaty, unscrupulous nemesis.

It Ain't Easy Bein' Green

Sting is keen on green, but while he talks the talk, does he walk the walk?? He's a celebrity isn't he, so that is probably a silly question to be asking. In addition to a small army of 750 flunkies that frequently travel the globe with him, Sting has also created his own personal Xanadu or Neverland, complete with palatial home, hedge mazes, and one enormous carbon foot print. Check out the pic over @ This Shit. I challenge you to try and find even one solar panel or wind mill on his enormous estate!

It might be argued that as a public person, Sting isn't called to mend his own ways. He can do far more good as a leader, and by inspiring us. Besides, if we cut back on our energy consumption, that means Sting and his famous buddies can get away with more. Now that's pretty sneaky. Never, ever trust a celebrity!

Actor is stunned by the irony of fame. Now that's gotta be some kind of a newsflash! Read about it @ FemaleFirst.

The TV ratings for the week of April 17 - 24 are in, and you can check them out at Televionista. I'd have called the site Televista, but once again no one asked me.

Check out this rogue's gallery of celebrity mug shots. Even Batman didn't have to face such a surely looking group as this!

Crocs really are the last word in comfort.

Wondertrash Daily Quotation:

Life is hard. After all, it kills you.
Katharine Hepburn

Neither devour, nor be devoured by, life.
Goswami Kriyananda

'Pro and con' is a disease of the mind.

Taoist proverb

Bogus zen of the little master
:

Life is hard, after all it kills you: and what ever doesn't kill you makes you stronger. So neither devour nor be devoured by life. How's that for a syllogistic fallacy?? Still just because the logic is faulty doesn't mean that it's not true.
