Gary Busey is in a "Better Place"

I thought he was dead!

actor Gary Busey is currently homeless. He was evicted after owing some 50 000 in back rent on his ocean front Malibu home. Busey insists that the vents are dirty and pose a health hazard. Friends say that Busey just can't handle money. It sounds like some one has a drug problem. maybe he could get put up in rehab for a month or so?

Remember actor Gary Busey? Think Nick Nolte with an overbite. Well Busey has gone from living in the fast lane to living on the street. The Buddy Holly actor has been kicked out of his modest Malibu home, for owing $50 000 in unpaid rent! It's seems that Gary has let his $6000 a month rent slide for awhile, and things have come to ahead. Now poor Gary has been evicted, complete with a notice from the sheriff's dept. posted on his door.

This time he's not apologizing

Now this isn't the first time that Gary's been in this kind of situation. Back in 2004 Gary owed a hefty $52 000 in unpaid rent. It's important to note that Gary isn't some kind of irresponsible dead beat. There actually was an issue involved. Seems that the place was riddled with m old, and Gary felt that the landlord should do something about it. Well after some back and forth, Gary forked over $30 000, and the landlord went to work on the mildew problem.

Dirty Air Vents: As much a health hazard as riding your cycle without a helmet

It seems that if you really don't want to pay your rent, then there's always a good excuse reason not to. Yet again Gary claims that his digs weren't up to snuff. This time it's dirt air ducts that are the problem. Busey insists that in their present state they are a health hazard. Furthermore he vows that he's not gonna pay up until his landlord rectifies the situation.

Gary and landlord need to clear the air

Well that's the official excuse for welching out on his rent. Busey's friends say the real reason is that Gary just doesn't have the money. He can't get it out of his head that he's not a major movie star anymore. So he spends money faster than he can earn it (probably on drugs, if his recent awards show behavior is any indication - he certainly gave Jennifer Garner the hee bee gee bees). The result is that there's nothing left for the bare necessities.

Not dead, but gone to a better place

So where is Gary staying, now that he's been locked out of the Malibu ocean front property he has called home for 15 years? Well his fans needn't worry. Gary's not huddled in some card board box, or standing on some soup line while trying to score meth from street folk. In fact Gary has found temporary shelter from the vicissitudes of the world. A friend of his has revealed to The National Enquirer that "He's happy and in a great place". They make it sound like the poor man has died!

Gary Busey Trivia: Speed Racer

Gary Busey was born in Goose Creek, Texas - now called Baywater. No word on whether it was the Busey connection which motivated the name change. His family moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma, where he graduated Nathan Hale High School, and went on to attend Pittsburg State University in Pittsburg, Kansas on a 'bowling scholarship'.

As a young man Gary enjoyed sitting on the hoods of friends cars, while they drove at top speed. After a bad motorcycle wipe out, Gary became a strong advocate of helmet laws. He's not the kind of guy who needs to get hit over the head twice to learn. No word about how he stands on 'car surfing' these days.

Gary once chewed out a young reporter for the website StarzLife.com. When I say young, the girl was eleven. She had approached Busey at an after party event, and tried to ask a few questions. Busey's hollering seemed to spook the girl badly. Busey then went on to criticize stars who didn't set the same high moral example he did, before grappling with the camera. In fairness to Busey, it's a pretty cheap trick to use a little girl to get an interview. The idea being that celebs risk looking like jerks if they don't play nice. It was StarzLife that tossed the girl in harm's way.

There is one other important thing that you should remember about Gary: he was nominated for an Academy Award on the strength of his Buddy Holly portrayal. That puts him in a pretty select group of actors.

The Case of the Cursed Jersey

Seems like another sports jersey is in the news. This time it belongs to soccer's nicest guy David Beckham. You can file this one under good intentions. No good deed goes unpunished, and rightly so!

Kate Beckinsale talks candidly about her father:

Kate has disclosed: 'Actors who knew him kept telling me how devastated they were when he died. I was constantly in the position of having to console them for my father's death. 'It's easy when you're four feet taller than the person you're talking to, to think they don't really understand what's going on. But I was so devastated, and I knew exactly what had happened.'

'It makes you very angry, and more aware of your own mortality. It makes you realise that people aren't going to be around for ever, and it probably makes you grow up too soon.'

She has probably, she adds touchingly, seen more of her father on television than she ever did in life.

From a DailyMail interview shortly before the release of Pearl Harbor. Since she is a comedian's daughter, I almost expected her to fall for Adam Sandler, during Flick.

Now here's South America's favorite little rascal Condorito!

Wondertrash though of the day:

If voting changed anything, they'd make it illegal.
