Britney Spears isn't the only celebrity who flipped out, and shaved herself bald. Gary Coleman also pulled a similar stunt, several years ago. In many ways Gary's story is a sad one. He was born with kidney disease. Though a transplant was found, anti rejection drugs severely stunted his growth and development. For awhile this was a blessing in disguise, since his diminutive image landed him the role of Arnold on Different Strokes. The cute factor also won over America, and then 1st Lady Nancy Reagan.

However, after DS ran it's course, Gary found himself unable to find acting jobs. Though he had made about 20 million during his prime time TV run, his adoptive parents had embezzled and squandered most of it. This lead to a messy law suit, in which he hauled his folks into court, and demanded the return of his money. Unsuccessfully, I might add.

This is when Gary sunk into a funk. He started calling himself "Andy Shane", he shaved his head, and worse, stopped his dialysis (he'd long since rejected his transplant). Paramedics would find him, usually in public places, in the extremes of blood toxicity. They'd strap him to the stretcher, and carry him off for dialysis, while he protested that he wanted to die. When he wasn't acting out public 'suicide dramas', he spent his time playing with model trains, and watching violent pornography. It's good to have hobbies. They keep the mind occupied, and nothing works like porno!

Gary's slowly getting his act together. A few years ago, he tried to auction off his virginity, on Ebay. He's also working again, with a few voice overs on "The Simpson's". Also he starred in a WWE music video, with then champ John Cena. Plus, the National Enquirer is reporting that Gary is now once again 'full of beans'. The pint sized actor recently got into a heated shouting match with a wheelchair bound woman, at a public autograph signing. Fellow 70's B Listers, such a Henry "The Fonz" Winkler, report that they were mortified by Gary's behaviour!
